At the regular press conference held on the 26th, officials from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment introduced that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has promoted the rectification work and has basically eliminated large areas of rural black and odorous water bodies. Zhao Shixin, Director of the Soil and Ecological Environment Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated that the treatment rate of the 5042 large areas of rural black and odorous water bodies nationwide has reached over 98%, achieving basic elimination. It involves 30 provinces, 860 counties, and more than 4,100 administrative villages, benefiting approximately 9.72 million people.
