National Health Commission: Public hospitals have completely abolished outpatient prepayment since March 31 this year.

The National Health Commission held a press conference today to introduce the situation of the practical projects serving the people. Liu Kui, the director of the financial department of the National Health Commission, introduced that this year, reform measures were implemented in public hospitals nationwide to cancel outpatient prepayment and reduce the amount of inpatient prepayment, with the aim of continuously reducing the burden of medical care for the people and improving their medical experience. Starting from March 31st this year, all public hospitals in the country have fully cancelled outpatient prepayments, so patients do not need to pre-deposit cash at hospitals. Starting from June 30th, the inpatient prepayment amount for medical insurance patients has been reduced to the average level of individual payment, with a significant decrease in the inpatient prepayment for most common diseases. Preliminary statistics show that the average nationwide reduction is over 20%. Whether it's outpatient or inpatient, the amount of money patients prepay has been reduced.
