On December 26, the Japanese government announced a roadmap to revitalize the domestic shipbuilding industry. It will be divided into three phases before 2035, supported by a fund of 350 billion yen to assist equipment investments. In addition, industry cooperation will be promoted, with the goal of consolidating into 1-3 groups by around 2028. By 2035, Japan's domestic construction volume will double compared to 2024, forming a system where the demand of Japanese ship owners is met domestically.
