The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has released the list of outstanding cases for the fourth batch of beautiful rivers and lakes, and beautiful bays.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment held a press conference this morning, announcing the list of the fourth batch of excellent cases of beautiful rivers and lakes, as well as beautiful bays. There are a total of 47 excellent cases of beautiful rivers and lakes in the fourth batch. Examples include Kongmu River in Xinyu, Jiangxi and Xishui River in Changsha, Hunan, where industrial, agricultural, and domestic pollution control has been strengthened, improving water quality from Class V to Class III; Shiyang River in Shenzhen, Guangdong and Shanxi Reservoir in Wenzhou, Zhejiang persist in both "cutting off pollution and restoring ecology," strengthening the safety guarantee of drinking water sources, and protecting the "big water tank" around the masses; Muyang Creek in Ningde, Fujian, and Chishui River support industrial green development with high-quality ecological environment, promoting the transformation of river and lake ecological advantages into economic and social development benefits; the Yangtze River and Yong River in Nanning, Guangxi have systematically improved sewage treatment capacity, promoted the coordinated governance of main and tributary rivers in urban river systems, and achieved significant results. The new pattern of "each being beautiful and all are beautiful" in the protection and management of beautiful rivers and lakes in China is gradually forming. The fourth batch of excellent cases of beautiful bays includes 12 cases. Xiamen has promoted comprehensive management of nearshore waters, with Dadeng Bay and West Bay becoming outstanding cases. Xiamen has now become the first city to complete the construction of beautiful bays in the whole area. In addition, the excellent case of Dapeng Bay - Hong Kong section recommended by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is a model of Guangdong and Hong Kong jointly strengthening the co-governance of marine ecological environment and jointly promoting the construction of the first pilot area of beautiful China. So far, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has announced a total of 141 excellent cases of beautiful rivers and lakes and 43 beautiful bays.
