Tajikistan and Afghanistan border clashes result in several deaths.

On December 25th, local time, the Tajikistan National Security Committee Border Guard news center reported that there was a firefight along the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border on the 24th, resulting in the deaths of two Tajik border guard soldiers and multiple armed individuals. The report stated that on December 23rd at 11:30 PM, three members of a terrorist organization crossed the border from Afghanistan and infiltrated a Tajikistan border outpost. The Tajik border guard forces locked onto the terrorists' hiding place on the 24th at 11:15 AM within Tajikistan's territory. Eventually, the Tajik border guard forces killed the three terrorists and seized a quantity of weapons, explosives, and other military supplies at the scene. Two Tajik border guard soldiers died in the firefight. The specific details of the incident are still under investigation. The report stated that this is the third case in the past month of individuals crossing the border from Afghanistan and carrying out terrorist activities.
