On December 25th, Haikou Customs released statistical data showing that during the first week of customs closure operations, Haikou Customs oversaw duty-free shopping on the island with a total amount of 1.1 billion yuan, 775,000 items purchased, and 165,000 shoppers, representing an increase of 54.9%, 11.8%, and 34.1% respectively compared to 2024; compared to the week before the customs closure, the figures increased by 71.8%, 46.7%, and 71.8%, fully reflecting the stimulating effect of customs closure operations on the consumer market.
