During the first week of customs closure operations, duty-free shopping on the island maintained a growth trend, with the consumer frenzy continuing to heat up. On December 25th, Haikou Customs released statistical data showing that during the first week of customs closure operations, Haikou Customs oversaw duty-free shopping on the island with a total amount of 1.1 billion yuan, 775,000 items purchased, and 165,000 shoppers, representing an increase of 54.9%, 11.8%, and 34.1% respectively compared to 2024; compared to the week before the customs closure, the figures increased by 71.8%, 46.7%, and 71.8%, fully reflecting the stimulating effect of customs closure operations on the consumer market.
