The 18 measures to support the development of the gaming and esports industry in Guangzhou were officially released on the official website of the People's Government of Guangzhou. This is the first special policy in Guangzhou to support the development of the gaming and esports industry. The goal is to strive for Guangzhou to become one of the most influential cities in the global gaming and esports industry by 2030. In line with the actual situation of our city, these measures were formulated. They support the deep integration of technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, metaverse, ultra-high-definition video, and the gaming and esports industry, focusing on the research and development of "bottleneck" technologies in the gaming field. Game and esports companies are encouraged to actively undertake national key laboratories, national industry innovation platforms, and national major projects, and actively introduce high-quality results of national key research and development projects to be transformed and realized in Guangzhou. After review and assessment by the competent department of the gaming and esports industry in the city, high-quality projects that achieve significant breakthroughs in the gaming technology field will be awarded a one-time support grant of up to 3 million yuan.
