United Nations Security Council: Will continue to work towards achieving peace and stability in Yemen

On the 24th local time, members of the United Nations Security Council reaffirmed their strong support for the efforts of the UN Special Envoy on the Yemen issue, stating that they will continue to work towards achieving a lasting, comprehensive and sustainable peace and stability in Yemen for the benefit of the Yemeni people. Security Council members noted that recent escalations in the situation have not helped to advance substantive progress in the peace process in Yemen, and called on all parties to immediately de-escalate tensions and urged regional parties to intensify diplomatic efforts to resolve differences through political means. Security Council members emphasized their continued support for all efforts aimed at reaching a political solution and ending the long-term suffering of the Yemeni people.
