Tourism revenue in 12 provinces has exceeded one trillion RMB, and two more provinces are aiming to achieve the same this year.

The cultural tourism industry has become an important engine driving local economic growth. By the end of 2024, 12 provinces have surpassed one trillion yuan in total tourism revenue, becoming "trillion-yuan tourism powerhouse provinces". In addition, Hubei and Anhui have also announced that their tourism revenue will exceed one trillion yuan this year. Recently, Chen Guanghao, Director of the Cultural and Tourism Department of Sichuan Province, introduced at a themed press conference on "Securing a New Chapter in the '14th Five-Year Plan'" that the cultural tourism industry is one of the 15 key industry chains in Sichuan's "build circles and strengthen chains" initiative, with the total number of domestic tourists and total spending increasing from 636 million and 705.9 billion yuan in 2022 to 1.119 billion and 1.76 trillion yuan by 2024, leading the country. According to data released by provinces at the beginning of the year and data from recent "14th Five-Year Plan" series conferences, by the end of 2024, tourism total revenue has exceeded one trillion yuan in Sichuan, Guizhou, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Hebei, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Henan, and Shandong, among other provinces.
