The woman accused Johnson & Johnson of having asbestos in their baby powder products, leading to her developing mesothelioma. The jury found that Johnson & Johnson was responsible for failing to warn the plaintiff about asbestos in their baby powder. On the 23rd, Johnson & Johnson stated that they will immediately begin the appeals process. Lawsuits regarding Johnson & Johnson baby powder and other talc products containing asbestos causing cancer have been ongoing for many years without stopping. The U.S. media stated that this is the highest amount awarded to a single plaintiff in Johnson & Johnson's related lawsuits over the past 15 years. Currently, Johnson & Johnson faces over 67,000 related lawsuits.
