British Petroleum is close to selling the majority of its shares in Gastron to Stonepeak for nearly $10 billion.
According to informed sources, BP is close to selling a majority stake in its Castrol lubricants business to investment firm Stonepeak, with the deal valuing the division at $10 billion. Sources say that under the deal, BP will receive approximately $6 billion by selling 65% of the shares to Stonepeak. The deal is expected to be announced as early as Wednesday, but it could also be delayed or fall through.
