The spokesperson: On December 23rd, the "Seventh Seminar on the History of the Chinese Nation's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Inheritance of the Spirit of Resistance Against Japan, as well as the Release of the "Chronicle of Major Events of the Chinese Nation's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" took place in Beijing, attracting attention from both sides of the strait. The spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, Peng Qing'en: On December 23rd, the Seventh Seminar on the History of the Chinese Nation's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Inheritance of the Spirit of Resistance Against Japan, as well as the Release of the "Chronicle of Major Events of the Chinese Nation's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression", was held at the Chinese Academy of History. The conference was jointly organized by the Chinese Society for the History of the Anti-Japanese War and the Taiwan Association for the Commemoration of the Restoration, with more than 120 guests from both sides of the strait attending.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the resistance against Japan, as well as the 80th anniversary of the restoration of Taiwan. During the seminar, participants from both sides of the strait systematically reviewed the anti-Japanese struggle of Taiwan compatriots, in-depth analyzed the historical contributions of the Chinese people's resistance against Japan to the victory of the world's anti-fascist war, and explained the significant and far-reaching impact of establishing the Taiwan Restoration Day. The seminar also sternly criticized the erroneous statements regarding Taiwan by Katsushika Hokusai and the distortion of historical views, demonstrating the important role of the anti-Japanese war seminar in promoting the sharing of historical materials, writing history books together, and promoting the spirit of resistance against Japan among compatriots on both sides of the strait.
During the event, the "Chronicle of Major Events of the Chinese Nation's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression", jointly compiled by experts and scholars from both sides of the strait and published by the China Book Corporation, was released. The "Chronicle" contains over 600,000 words, presented in a chronological format, recording major events during the resistance against Japan in a detailed and objective manner, showcasing the heroic resistance of the Chinese military and civilians against Japan. The traditional Chinese version will also be published in the near future.
