The Rural Economic Department of the National Development and Reform Commission issued a document on the 24th, stating that efforts will be made to improve the comprehensive production capacity and quality efficiency of agriculture, ensure stable and safe supply of grains and important agricultural products. It will intensify the implementation of a new round of actions aiming to increase grain production capacity by one trillion kilograms, focusing on consolidating and improving staple food production, and specifically targeting maize and soybeans while steadily expanding the production of high-quality forage crops such as silage maize and alfalfa. Measures will be taken to increase the single crop output of major crops such as grains and oils. Production of high-quality and specialty varieties will be expanded to meet market demand. The protection of arable land will be strictly enforced, and the management of land use balance will be closely regulated, optimizing the layout of agricultural land. High-quality construction of standardized farmland will be vigorously promoted, optimizing input structure, improving management mechanisms, strengthening the protection of black soil and comprehensive utilization of saline-alkaline land. The development of a diversified food supply system and modern facility agriculture will be continued. The development of agroforestry and the expansion of the forestry and grass industry will be emphasized. Comprehensive control over the production capacity of pigs will be strengthened, and the number of breeding sows will be adjusted accordingly.
