A car fell into a pond in DingShan Town, Pengze County, Jiujiang, Jiangxi: 8 people unfortunately died, and the car was carrying multiple children.

On the afternoon of December 23, 2025, a sedan fell into a pond in Dingshan Town, Pengze County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. According to a police report released by the Pengze County Public Security Bureau, around 4 p.m. on the 23rd, a single-vehicle accident occurred where a car fell into the water on a rural road in Xiangshu Village, Dingshan Town, Pengze County. After receiving the report, the police, fire department, medical personnel, and other departments rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations. Upon investigation, it was found that the vehicle driven by Luo, who fell into the pond, resulted in the deaths of 8 people including Luo. Currently, the accident investigation and aftermath handling are ongoing. According to villagers living near the pond, the vehicle that fell into the pond had been salvaged from the water on the afternoon of the 23rd. The vehicle involved in the accident was a sedan normally driven by Luo, the head of a local kindergarten. Before the accident, Luo was driving the sedan to take several children home, traveling from east to west past the pond when they fell into the water.
