The license is issued in accordance with the laws and regulations in the Russian Federation on the use of atomic energy, with a validity period of 10 years. Unit 1 of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant officially started operating on December 10, 1984, and its originally designed operating life has been extended to December 25, 2025. The plant stated that obtaining the license is a crucial step in ensuring the long-term and safe operation of the unit beyond its design lifespan.
