Chinese company signs first EPC contract for Kuwait's Al-Mubarak port project.

The signing ceremony of the first phase EPC project of Kuwait Al-Mubarak Port undertaken by China Communications Construction Company Limited was held on Bubiyan Island in the northeastern part of Jahra Province, Kuwait on the 22nd. About 200 officials and representatives from China and Kuwait attended the ceremony. Kuwaiti Prime Minister Ahmed stated at the signing ceremony that the Al-Mubarak Port project fully reflects the deep friendship and cooperation between Kuwait and China. The two countries' relationship is built on a long and solid historical foundation, and the strategic partnership between China and Kuwait is continuously turning into concrete results under the leadership of the two countries' leaders, continuously strengthening and developing. Liu Xiang, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, expressed that the signing of this project is a milestone in the high-quality cooperation between China and Kuwait under the Belt and Road Initiative. They look forward to continuing to uphold sincere cooperation and a win-win concept, actively promoting high-quality project construction, and assisting in the diversification of Kuwait's economy to achieve the "2035 National Vision". Chen Zhong, Deputy General Manager of China Communications Construction, stated that this project is the first port project in the Middle East region partially implemented using Chinese standards by China Communications Construction. They will invest advantageous resources to ensure that the project becomes a "model project of China-Kuwait cooperation". After the signing ceremony, the two sides also had in-depth discussions on port design, construction, and regional functionality. It is understood that the Kuwait Al-Mubarak Port project is a key project in Kuwait's efforts to create a regional trade center and promote economic diversification, and it has symbolic significance in implementing Kuwait's "2035 National Vision".
