Director of the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government: The response on the first day of Guangdong vehicles traveling south was very good.
The policy of "Guangdong cars heading south" entering the urban area of Hong Kong officially started at zero hour today, with 100 places available daily. Guangdong cars that have been approved and successfully booked can enter the urban area of Hong Kong through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge starting today, staying in Hong Kong for up to 3 days at a time. Christine Loh, Director of Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that nearly all of the 100 places for vehicles that have made reservations to travel have been filled on the first day. Due to the upcoming long holiday in Hong Kong, the response to the "Guangdong cars heading south" measure has been quite positive. The government will closely monitor the situation, including observing the number of vehicles entering Hong Kong. Loh noted that most of the vehicles coming to Hong Kong are electric cars, and the government will gradually increase the number of related charging facilities in the future.
