All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce: By the end of 2024, private enterprises will account for more than 90% of the total number of national high-tech enterprises.

The China Association of Enterprises held its Thirteenth Fourth Session of the Executive Committee meeting in Changsha, Hunan on December 23, where it released the "Chinese Private Enterprise Social Responsibility Report". The report points out that the position of private enterprises as the main body of technological innovation continues to strengthen, and they have become an important force in the development of new quality productive forces. By the end of 2024, private enterprises accounted for more than 90% of the national high-tech enterprises, with their proportion exceeding 80% in "small giants" enterprises specializing in new technologies and in the enterprises listed on the science and technology innovation board. For the first time, they became the largest entity in China's high-tech product import and export, accounting for 48.5%. The total R&D expenditure of the top 1000 private enterprises in R&D investment reached 1.43 trillion yuan, with 112 companies entering the top 1000 in global R&D investment. Evaluation data shows that 71.6% of private enterprises achieved a year-on-year increase in R&D investment.
