Construction has commenced on the main project of Unit 2 of the Lufeng Nuclear Power Project in Guangdong.

Yesterday, it was learned from China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) that the No. 2 unit of the Lufeng Nuclear Power Project in Guangdong Province has started the first pouring of concrete for the nuclear island, marking the start of the main construction of the unit. The CGN Lufeng Nuclear Power Project is located in Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, and plans to build six million-kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power units. The total amount of concrete pouring this time is approximately 6635 cubic meters, with a duration of about 64 hours. Compared to traditional construction methods, the No. 2 unit of the Lufeng Nuclear Power Project adopts modular construction technology, which can greatly reduce on-site work while improving production accuracy and quality through factory prefabrication and on-site assembly, thus improving construction efficiency.
