Sichuan will include pain relief during childbirth in medical insurance reimbursement.

According to the Sichuan Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau, Sichuan has included labor analgesia in medical insurance reimbursement. When eligible pregnant women receive the service, the related expenses can be reimbursed directly according to regulations, further reducing the economic pressure of childbirth. The person in charge of the Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau introduced that, in accordance with the relevant requirements of the National Medical Insurance Bureau, Sichuan Province has separately listed labor analgesia as a project and included it in medical insurance payment reimbursement. Currently, more than 500 medical institutions in Sichuan have completed service readiness. From the tertiary hospitals in cities like Chengdu and Mianyang to the county-level medical centers, the "comfortable childbirth" guarantee network has been fully deployed, allowing pregnant women to enjoy worry-free services right at their doorstep.
