Shanshan High-Speed Railway achieves full line connection and operation.

On December 22nd at 10:30, with the departure of the G9787 high-speed train from Shantou Station, the opening and operation of the Shantou to Shantou South section of the Shanshan High-speed Railway was officially launched. The Shanshan High-speed Railway is one of the key nodes of the Yunguang High-speed Railway, which is part of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network along the coast. The main line is 162 kilometers long with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The section from Shantou South to Shanwei was opened on December 26, 2023. The opening of the last section from Shantou to Shantou South will further shorten the time and space distance between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the eastern Guangdong Economic Zone.
