Uber announced it will cooperate with Baidu to test autonomous taxis in the UK. Earlier this month, American autonomous technology company Waymo launched tests in London. Uber stated on Monday that it plans to launch a pilot project in London in the first half of 2026 using Baidu's Apollo Go RT6 autonomous taxi. The company said the service is expected to be rolled out in London by the end of next year. Uber abandoned its independently developed autonomous driving technology in 2020 and instead established partnerships with several autonomous taxi companies. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi stated in an interview earlier this month that the company plans to offer autonomous driving services in over 10 markets by the end of next year.
