On December 22, 2025, the National Conference on the High-Quality Development of Long-Term Care Insurance was held in Ningbo. Zhang Ke, director of the National Medical Insurance Bureau, introduced that after the pilot, the long-term care insurance system covers about 300 million people, benefiting more than 3.3 million disabled people, with total fund expenditure exceeding 100 billion yuan. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, long-term care insurance will transition from pilot to full implementation, and the National Medical Insurance Bureau will accelerate the establishment of a long-term care insurance system with Chinese characteristics, gradually covering all insured persons.
