According to the official WeChat account of the China Fireworks and Firecrackers Association, on December 20, the association released a statement: on December 16, 2025, Shanxi Province issued a decision to abolish 124 administrative normative documents, including the "Notice of the Shanxi Provincial People's Government on Prohibiting the Production, Operation, Storage, Transportation and Ignition of Fireworks and Firecrackers". It stated that the "Notice" would cease to be enforced from December 16 and would no longer serve as the basis for administrative management. This move signifies the transition of Shanxi Province's fireworks and firecracker management from a comprehensive ban mode to a scientifically regulated limited use mode. Fireworks and firecrackers are important carriers of China's traditional excellent culture. Shanxi Province's adjustment of the full ban policy on fireworks and firecrackers not only responds to the cultural demands of the masses, but also reflects the government's scientific concept of balancing public management with people's livelihood and safety governance. By clearly defining the time, area, and safety management requirements for limited use, it can preserve the holiday atmosphere, inherit folk customs, and effectively control the safety risks of fireworks and firecrackers. The association will actively support and assist in the implementation of Shanxi's adjustment of fireworks and firecracker ignition policy, help with scientific and precise policy implementation, and promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry.
