Residents of Wuhan and Nanchang share a "carbon wallet"
On December 18, the 2nd Carbon-Inclusive City Cooperation Conference in Nanchang introduced a new feature - the official launch of the Nanchang Carbon-Inclusive Service Platform, which now allows for mutual recognition and exchange of carbon emission reductions with the Wuhan Carbon-Inclusive Personal Low-Carbon Lifestyle Platform "Wu Carbon Jianghu." This means that residents from both cities now have a common "carbon wallet": the carbon emission reductions saved by residents in Wuhan can be exchanged for benefits in Nanchang, while the reductions saved by residents in Nanchang can be directly used as money in Wuhan, truly achieving "the same increase and decrease of emission reductions, cross-city exchange of green rights and benefits." Currently, the number of individual registered carbon accounts in Wuhan has exceeded 2 million for the first time. This means that one in every 6 residents has registered a personal carbon account. At the event, a reporter opened their "Wu Carbon Jianghu" mini program and could clearly see their accumulated 28,141 grams of carbon emission reductions. By opening the Nanchang Carbon-Inclusive Platform and clicking to authorize, carbon emission reductions can be instantly transferred across cities. In the platform's online store, carbon emission reductions have become "green currency": 820 grams of carbon emission reductions plus 7.38 yuan can be exchanged for 10 packs of Vinda wet wipes, 1290 grams of carbon emission reductions plus 11.61 yuan can be exchanged for a hand cream, and 7800 grams of carbon emission reductions plus 70.2 yuan can be exchanged for a barbecue stove. The store offers more than 80 types of products covering household goods, outdoor sports, home appliances, kitchenware, and more, allowing low-carbon behavior to truly be "visible and tangible."
