World Trade Report: Artificial Intelligence Could Drive Global Trade Growth by Nearly 40% by 2040.
On the 20th local time, the World Trade Organization released the "World Trade Report 2025", which pointed out that with the implementation of supporting policies, artificial intelligence is expected to increase cross-border trade in goods and services by 34% to 37% by 2040, while global GDP is forecasted to grow by 12% to 13%. The report emphasizes the need to bridge the digital infrastructure gap, strengthen skills training, and maintain an open and predictable trade environment to ensure more inclusive growth. WTO Director-General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, stated that trade can play a key role in ensuring that artificial intelligence benefits all economies.
