Facing the increasing number of visitors, the iconic Trevi Fountain and "Wishing Pool" in the capital of Italy, Rome, will start charging tourists from February 1st next year. According to the Italian news agency ANSA, Rome's mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, announced this decision on the 19th. In addition to the Trevi Fountain and "Wishing Pool," five other landmarks in Rome will also charge a fee, with a ticket price of 2 euros each. However, locals can still visit these landmarks for free.
