GlaxoSmithKline: Reached an agreement with the US government to lower drug prices, making it easier for millions of Americans to access respiratory medications. The drugs involved in this agreement are used to treat patients in the US with respiratory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. GlaxoSmithKline will stockpile albuterol for the United States to further ensure the stability of the country's critical drug supply chain. The agreement outlines the pricing framework for the future for the two companies, while exempting GlaxoSmithKline and Vectiv Pharmaceuticals from 232 tariff provisions for the next three years. Most of their inhaled respiratory system drugs and other products will be available on a US direct purchase platform, with patients able to enjoy up to 66% discounts on medication. The specific terms of the agreement reached with the US are still confidential.
