European Central Bank Executive Board member Askliva stated that he sees no reason to adjust interest rates and expects monetary policy to remain stable in the foreseeable future. The European Central Bank maintained its policy rate on Thursday and raised some growth and inflation expectations, which may have closed the door to further rate cuts in the near future. When asked about possible interest rate changes in the next step during the interview, Askliva said, "We don't know, but if necessary, we are open to any changes in any direction, but for now we are satisfied with the current interest rate level of 2%."
