The United States approved a military sale plan to NATO for approximately $130 million.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency issued a statement on the 18th saying that the US State Department has approved the sale of components, services, and related equipment to NATO for extending the service life of the "Stinger" surface-to-air missile. After merging with a previous related arms sale, the total value of the arms sale plan is estimated to reach $136 million. The statement said that NATO Support and Procurement Agency representatives from Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands are responsible for implementing a "Stinger" surface-to-air missile life extension project and proposed the above procurement content. This arms sale will be integrated into a previously implemented arms sale project with an original value of $50.7 million. The statement said that the new arms sale will enhance NATO's ability to respond to "current and future threats" and improve its level of cooperation with the US military and other allies.
