Sichuan: Strive to achieve a provincial forest carbon sink volume of 100 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2030.

The press conference on the phased achievements and related work of the construction of the "Tianfu Forest Carbon Sink" was held in Chengdu on the 18th. Zhang Gecheng, Chief Engineer of the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Sichuan Province, stated at the meeting that Sichuan has taken the construction of the "carbon sink" of the "Tianfu Forest Carbon Sink" as the starting point, solidly promoting the protection, greening, and carbon reduction, strengthening the development of carbon sink resources in forest and grass ecosystems. It strives to achieve an annual carbon sequestration of 100 million tons of carbon dioxide by 2030, with a carbon storage capacity of 10 billion tons, and the development scale of forest carbon sink projects exceeding 30 million acres, with the basic establishment of the ecosystem value transformation system of the forest carbon sink.
