Capital.com's Daniela Hathorn stated in a report that if the Bank of England cuts interest rates in its decision at 1200 Greenwich Mean Time, the pound may experience fluctuations. Data from the London Stock Exchange Group shows that the market has fully priced in expectations for the Bank of England to cut rates to 3.75%. A rate cut by the Bank of England could lead to a decrease in UK bond yields and potentially bring better prospects for the macroeconomic outlook. Hathorn said, "The pound may experience bidirectional fluctuations, as the decrease in yields puts pressure on the pound, but the improvement in macroeconomic confidence provides some offset." The pound fell by 0.2% to $1.3350. The euro rose by 0.1% against the pound to 0.8778.
