Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong: Hong Kong's rule of law must not be interfered with, Western interference is self-defeating.
In response to the so-called statements made by the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7), the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, as well as countries such as Canada, New Zealand, France, and Japan, who have disregarded the facts and misrepresented the truth regarding the conviction of Jimmy Lai by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region according to law, openly supporting the grievances of anti-China and anti-Hong Kong elements, blatantly interfering in the judicial affairs of Hong Kong and China's internal affairs, the spokesperson of the Hong Kong office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition!
The spokesperson stated that Jimmy Lai has long been a "pawn" for external forces causing chaos in Hong Kong, and the clear and concrete evidence of his crimes of incitement to subversion and separatism, as well as endangering national security. The entire trial process of the Jimmy Lai case was open and transparent, with both the prosecution and defense presenting evidence, and the judgment was completely based on the facts and evidence, with no room for criticism. Various sectors of Hong Kong society have unanimously supported and applauded this judgment.
The spokesperson emphasized that certain countries are turning a blind eye to the 855-page judgment, instead portraying Jimmy Lai as a so-called "democratic fighter" and "champion of press freedom", which is a blatant trampling of the rule of law! The constant concern of the US and Western countries about "rights" and "freedom" in Hong Kong is actually due to their fear that their lackeys nurtured in Hong Kong will be punished, and they are disappointed that their schemes to infiltrate and disrupt Hong Kong have failed. Their so-called "statements" are nothing more than a piece of waste paper.
The spokesperson emphasized that today's China has long bid farewell to the old history of humiliation by foreign powers trampling on it with an iron fist. Today's Hong Kong is moving confidently towards a new path of prosperity from stability and rule of law. No matter how many countries unite together, no matter how they attempt to pressure China into submission, it is all like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, or a weak insect challenging a towering tree. In the end, they will only end up with their heads broken and bloodied against the impenetrable wall of the 1.4 billion Chinese people, including the people of Hong Kong, facing a shameful and self-inflicted humiliation!
