New Year's Day holiday train tickets go on sale today. The popularity of skiing and outbound travel is rising.

According to China Railway Corporation, starting from December 18th, train tickets for the 2026 New Year's Day holiday will officially go on sale, following the rule of advance sales 15 days prior. Traveling for New Year's Day, ice and snow tours are one of the most popular choices. With the increasing popularity of ice and snow tours, many local railway departments are also opening up special ice and snow trains and launching comprehensive warm-hearted measures to make "taking a high-speed train to go skiing" a new trend for New Year's Day travel. Data from online travel booking platforms shows that during the New Year's Day period, the booking volume of outbound flights to popular areas has increased by more than 40%, with the most popular outbound travel destinations including Thailand, Singapore, and Spain. The increase in ticket sales for flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam, has reached 3.2 times and 2.4 times, respectively.
