The two-year UK bond yield fell more than 5 basis points, and UK inflation fell more than expected.
At the end of the European market on Wednesday, the yield on the 10-year UK government bond fell by 4.4 basis points to 4.475%, while European stocks plunged at the opening and quickly hit a daily low of 4.446%, continuing to fluctuate at low levels throughout the day. The yield on the 2-year UK bond fell by 5.4 basis points to 3.712%, while the yield on the 30-year UK bond fell by 3.4 basis points and the yield on the 50-year UK bond fell by 3.0 basis points. The yield spread between the 2-year and 10-year UK bonds increased by 0.992 basis points to +76.099 basis points. Data released at 15:00 showed that the year-on-year increase in UK CPI in November was 3.2%, with expectations that it would slow down from 3.6% to 3.5%.
