In order to train artificial intelligence models, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google have been actively collecting various professional data, and have been in talks with startups and publicly traded companies to obtain authorization for data sets in fields such as genomics. According to individuals who have had discussions with related companies, OpenAI staff have been in contact with several companies in the past few months, including life science diagnostics provider Revvity, accounting software service provider Xero, and several companies in the biotechnology, consumer healthcare, software, and financial services industries, to discuss the possibility of data authorization or other forms of cooperation. Zaven Dar, founder of DeepMind, stated that in the meantime, Anthropic, DeepMind, and an independent company under Google focusing on artificial intelligence drug development, called Simulant Lab, have been in discussions with several early-stage biotechnology startups about data authorization or cooperation.
