More than 40 million foreigners have flooded into the country, with a sudden surge in foreign passenger flow at national ports.
On December 17th last year, China's 240-hour transit visa exemption policy was officially implemented, and today marks its one-year anniversary. According to the latest statistics from the National Immigration Administration, in the past year since the policy was implemented, a total of 40.6 million foreign nationals have entered China through various ports, representing a 27.2% increase compared to the previous year. The scale and growth of foreign visitors in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou have both been outstanding, with many ports across the country experiencing a surge in foreign visitors: the number of foreign nationals entering Xiamen port with the 240-hour visa exemption has more than tripled, and the number entering Liaoning port has increased by 5.7 times.
