International Energy Agency: Global coal demand will slightly decline by 2030.
The International Energy Agency released a report on the 17th, stating that with increased competition from other energy products such as renewable energy, natural gas, and nuclear energy, global coal demand is expected to slightly decrease by 2030. According to the report titled "Coal 2025," global coal demand is forecasted to increase by 0.5% to a record 8.85 billion tons by 2025. The report suggests that while global coal demand is expected to reach a new high in 2025, it will remain stable in the years to come. By 2030, global coal demand is projected to decrease by 3% compared to 2025, below the levels of 2023.
