On December 17th, the "Anju Beijing" WeChat public account published an article, stating that in order to effectively strengthen the governance of the online ecosystem and firmly control the chaos in the real estate sector, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, together with the Municipal Committee of the Internet Information Office and the Municipal Public Security Bureau, held joint discussions with internet platforms such as Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Beike, 58.com, Xianyu, Lianjia, Wo Ai Wo Jia, and Maitian. The article mentioned that some self-media accounts have been posting and spreading negative information about the Beijing property market, creating market panic, spreading false information, and attracting traffic through fake listings, seriously disrupting market order. The platforms were asked to conduct comprehensive self-inspections, promptly remove illegal information, deal with violations, and accelerate the establishment of a normalized industry content review mechanism. Up to December 12th, under the supervision of relevant departments, platforms such as 58.com, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Xianyu, and Beike have collectively cleared more than 17,000 pieces of illegal and harmful information; they have also cleaned up and taken action against a number of real estate-related accounts and live broadcasts, such as Beijing Apartments, Laoli Tangjingfang, Ruige Financial Vision, and Beijing Haige Kanfang, which have been exacerbating market fluctuations, selling anxiety, speculating on policies, spreading false content for traffic, and misleading expectations, totaling over 2300 accounts and live streams. More than 100 improper notes have been deleted. Lianjia, Wo Ai Wo Jia, and Maitian have screened more than 1.3 million online property listings on their platforms and removed over 480 non-compliant property information. In the next step, relevant departments will continue to strengthen coordination, always adhere to positive voices, mainstream values, and clean up the network with a fresh era trend, maintaining a "zero tolerance" high-pressure situation for all kinds of disruptions to real estate market order. Internet platforms that fail to make progress in rectification and continue to infringe on the interests of the people will be strictly investigated and punished according to the law, in order to create a clean online space.
