Shenzhen introduces new policy to support housing for young talents: monthly housing allowance of 1250 yuan.

The Housing and Construction Bureau of Shenzhen City and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen City have issued the "Shenzhen Youth Talent Housing Support Implementation Measures," which will be implemented from January 1, 2026. This youth talent housing support policy specifies two support methods: transitional housing and living subsidies. Eligible young talents can choose one of them, cannot enjoy both, and must apply within 1 year from the date of identification of youth talents. Those who fail to apply within the deadline will be deemed to have waived their right. Transitional housing for young talents is primarily single-room units, while two-bedroom and larger units are rented out on a per-room basis for young talents. The rent is determined at around 60% of the market reference rent, with a maximum rental period of not more than 36 months. The living subsidy is 1250 yuan per month, disbursed for a period not exceeding 24 months.
