Beijing Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission, Cyberspace Administration, and Public Security Bureau jointly held talks with major Internet platforms to clean up more than 17,000 pieces of illegal real estate information.
In order to effectively strengthen the governance of the online environment and firmly curb the chaotic phenomena in the real estate sector, on December 5th, the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission, together with the Municipal Committee of the Cyberspace Administration, the Municipal Public Security Bureau, and other departments, jointly held talks with internet platforms such as Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Beike, 58 Tongcheng, Xianyu, Lianjia, Wo Ai Wo Jia, and Maitian. The meeting pointed out that some self-media accounts have been posting and spreading negative information about the Beijing real estate market on the internet, creating market panic, spreading false information, and attracting traffic with fake housing listings, seriously disrupting market order. The meeting required all platforms to immediately conduct comprehensive self-inspections, promptly remove illegal information, handle violative accounts, and accelerate the establishment of a standardized industry content review mechanism. As of December 12th, under the supervision of relevant departments, websites such as 58 Tongcheng, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Xianyu, and Beike have collectively conducted self-inspections and cleared over 17,000 pieces of various illegal and harmful information.
