Report: The number of elderly people over 60 suffering from hearing loss in China has exceeded 20 million.

On December 16th, the China Hearing Medical Development Foundation and the Social Science Literature Publishing House jointly released the Blue Book on "Chinese Hearing Health Report: Elderly Hearing Health" in Beijing. The report shows that according to the data from the Second National Sample Survey of Disabled Persons, the prevalence of hearing loss in the population aged 60 and above ranks first among all age groups, reaching a high of 11.04%. Based on this estimate, there are at least 20 million elderly people in China aged 60 and above suffering from hearing loss. About one-third of the elderly population aged 65 and above have hearing disabilities, and about 90% of the population aged 80 and above will experience hearing loss.
