Eurozone inflation rate in November remained at 2.1% due to an increase in service prices and a decrease in energy prices.
Final data released by the European Union's statistics office on Wednesday showed that the annual inflation rate in the euro area remained at 2.1% in November, unchanged from October. This was slightly lower than the preliminary estimate of 2.2%. Compared to the previous month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased by 0.3%, in line with expectations. In the EU as a whole, consumer prices rose by 2.4% year-on-year, but decreased by 0.2% month-on-month. The report noted that the overall stability of the inflation rate was a result of a combination of rising service prices and falling energy prices. Meanwhile, the core inflation rate, which excludes energy and food prices, remained unchanged at 2.4% year-on-year. Among EU member states, Estonia had the highest annual inflation rate at 4.7%, followed by Croatia and Austria. Cyprus, France, and Italy had the smallest increases in inflation rates, at 0.1%, 0.8%, and 1.1% respectively.
