Honda acquires 21% stake in Astemo company.

Honda announced on December 16th that it will acquire a 21% stake in Astemo, currently held by Hitachi, making Astemo a consolidated subsidiary of Honda. After the acquisition, Honda will hold 61% of the shares, Hitachi will hold 19%, and JICC will hold 20%. The share acquisition plan is set to be executed in the first quarter of the fiscal year beginning on April 1, 2026. Honda stated that as the holding company, it will lead Astemo in becoming a global supplier while continuing to push forward with its initial public offering.
