DRAM supply remains tight, SK Hynix says it is still difficult to determine the duration of the memory shortage cycle.

According to reports, SK Hynix responded today stating that the growth in memory demand has significantly exceeded previous expectations. They are currently coping with the rapid increase in AI-related memory demand by constructing new semiconductor fabrication plants and deploying capacity ahead of schedule. However, it is currently difficult to make a clear judgment on the duration of the memory shortage. The new M15X factory built by SK Hynix has been completed in two years and began production ahead of schedule. This factory is dedicated to HBM chip production, and is planned to start full-scale production next year. Due to the faster than expected growth in memory demand, we are actively ensuring "factory space" and "production capacity" by establishing advanced production infrastructure. This will enable us to efficiently meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence memory and constantly changing customer needs.
