On December 13, 2025, the national medical security work conference was held in Beijing. The meeting emphasized the need to support the development of commercial health insurance and improve the multi-level medical security system. It called for support for the connection and complementarity between commercial health insurance and basic medical insurance, as well as differentiated development. It urged the active implementation of an innovative drug catalog for commercial insurance, encouraging commercial health insurance to cover more reasonable medical expenses beyond the basic medical insurance catalog. It also encouraged commercial health insurance institutions to increase investment in innovative drugs to promote research and development. With the full authorization of individuals and ensuring data security, the conference recommended providing "medical insurance + commercial insurance" one-stop clearing and settlement services for commercial health insurance products in need, in order to improve claims efficiency. It also emphasized the enhancement of the employee medical mutual aid system, and the precise matching of charitable resources with assistance needs.
