On December 13, 2025, the National Medical Security Work Conference was held in Beijing. The meeting pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the national medical insurance system will promote the empowerment of medical insurance intelligence, effectively improve the level of medical insurance management services. 28 high-frequency medical insurance handling matters were unified, with 90% being handled online. Over the past five years, there have been more than 600 million cases of direct settlement of medical expenses for medical treatment across provinces, reducing the amount paid by the masses by 660 billion yuan. A national unified medical insurance information platform has been established, with a daily settlement volume of 28 million people, and a total of 1.25 billion people have activated medical insurance codes and achieved code scanning for medical treatment and drug purchase. The construction of medical insurance image cloud has seen data uploaded by 20 provinces nearly reaching 200 million.
