Sichuan's "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" proposal: Develop new energy storage, build Sichuan-Chongqing oil and gas production base, promote natural gas storage and production increase, and strengthen shale oil exploration and development.

On December 10th, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China issued a proposal on formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Sichuan Province. It suggested scientifically planning the construction of a new energy system and building a province strong in clean energy. The proposal also included plans to create an integrated clean energy base in the "Three Rivers" basin, promote the development of new energy, accelerate the construction of adjustable power sources, advance the construction of the Ganzi, Aba, and Panxi Ultra-High Voltage AC Project, strengthen the province's various levels of power transmission and distribution networks, and promote the construction of inter-provincial channels such as Longdian and Xuandian entering Sichuan. The proposal also mentioned implementing the Southwest Hub Power Grid Project, developing new energy storage, constructing an oil and gas production base in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, promoting the increase in natural gas reserves and production, and enhancing shale oil exploration and development. It also stressed the importance of moderately advancing the construction of new types of infrastructure, implementing major projects such as the construction of western data infrastructure and the integration of computing and electricity, building the national integrated computing power network as the hub node of the Chengdu-Chongqing region, and strengthening the national data center cluster. Additionally, the proposal emphasized the need to accelerate the renewal of traditional infrastructure and the digital transformation to promote the fusion of facilities across different fields.
