Sasayama Shinichi, President of Tokyo Gas Company, recently accepted an interview with Kyodo News regarding Russian-produced LNG, which accounts for about 10% of Japan's imported liquefied natural gas. He believes that to a certain extent, it can be replaced by other countries. He stated, "Based on the current situation, purchases can be made from other projects or markets." Regarding the possibility of the United States strengthening sanctions against Russia, Sasayama pointed out that "the likelihood of being unable to purchase LNG immediately is low." The deadline for the U.S. Treasury Department's transaction license is set to expire on the 19th, but he emphasized the importance of understanding the stability of the supply.
