Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Eighth Legislative Council Election: 40 people elected as new members of the Election Committee functional constituency legislators.

On December 8, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Election Committee announced that 40 seats were generated through the voting of the members of the Election Committee, and 40 people were elected as members of the new term of the Legislative Council representing different sectors. The voting for the 8th Legislative Council election in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was held at 7:30 am on December 7 and concluded at 11:30 pm on the same day after 16 hours of voting. The list of members elected as representatives of different sectors in the new term of the Legislative Council includes: Yao Pak Leung, Lee Ka Chu, Man Ying Yee, Ngai Chak Wong, Ng Fai Kit, Lau Chi Ping, Tang Ming Sum, Lau Ka Keung, Fan Hoi Kit, So Siu Chung, Hung Kam Hin, Ho Chun Yin, Koon Ho Ming, Ng Wing Ping, Wong Kam Fai, Chan Wing Kwong, Lee Chun Keung, Ho Kwan Yiu, Lam Siu Lo, Chan Hang Pan, Ho King Hong, Ng Wai Tak, Fan Kwan Wah, Chan Chung Yi, Chan Hoi Yan, Leung Tsz Ying, Gok Pui Fan, Chu Lap Wai, Chan Siu Hung, Lam Lam, Chong Ka Pan, Lee Ho Yin, Lam Chun Sing, Wong Kwok, Wong Kam Leung, Sin Wai Man, Leung Mei Fan, Chan Man Ki, Chan Chue Kwong, Chan Chung Ni. The new Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Legislative Council is composed of 90 members, including 40 members elected by the Election Committee, 30 members elected by functional groups, and 20 members elected by direct elections. It is expected that on the same day, the 30 members elected by functional groups and 20 members elected by direct elections will also be elected. The term of the 8th Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will begin on January 1, 2026 and will last for 4 years.
